Review of the Australian Beef Language – Cattle Council is seeking for a progressive and dynamic beef language to be developed, which is used consistently post farm gate for both domestic and international markets. The reforms being advocated for will ensure that producers receive the correct market signals based on quality and consumer demands. 2. MLA Marketing Taskforces – Committee members represented and advanced the interests the grassfed sector at MLA’s marketing taskforces. These taskforces determine the strategies that MLA adopts in marketing red meat internationally. The diverse range of expertise on the committee has ensured that the grassfed sector is extremely well represented and has been able to leverage the best marketing strategies. 3. Veal funding – Committee members endorsed a proposal to fund generic promotion of veal in the domestic market. This direction was chosen in light of research that illustrates veal is the ideal product to target people that chose the alternative proteins over traditional red meat products. The campaign is currently being developed and should be rolled out in 2015/2016.
